Best High Chairs

When shopping for a high chair we recommend looking for a model with wheels for easy maneuverability, easy to clean surfaces, adjustable trays with dishwasher safe inserts, a safety restraint system, and adjustable seat and height positions. You should also consider how much space it takes up and whether or not it folds up for space-saving storage when not in use or for transport.

We reviewed the best high chairs and rated them based upon these important features along with their price to come up with our rankings. Below these high chair reviews we also have a comparison chart so you can easily compare one high chair versus another.

Graco Blossom LX 6-in-1 Convertible Highchair

The Graco Blossom LX 6-in-1 Convertible Highchair is our pick for the best high chair. This $175 model was also the top rated high chair on Amazon. One of the reasons why it is so popular is that the 6-in-1 seating system grows with your child up to 60 pounds; converting from high chair to infant booster to toddler booster to youth chair. With this design you can even sit two children simultaneously.

The Graco Blossom LX also has lots of adjustability built into the seat with six height positions, three recline positions and three footrest positions. The tray insert is easy to remove and dishwasher-safe. Other features include front wheels with locking rear castors, leatherette seat pad that is machine-washable, and a storage basket.

As for negatives, the Blossom LX is heavy, does not fold up, and can be a bit cumbersome to move. However, overall if you have the space and want a high chair that will last for several years then we highly recommend the Graco Blossom LX.

Peg Perego Prima Pappa Zero 3 High Chair

Coming in a close second place on our list is the $200 Peg Perego Prima Pappa Zero 3 High Chair. This thing is much lighter than the Graco Blossom at under 17 pounds, folds up, and with its large rubber wheels glides across floors easily and won’t damage hard wood floors. You can use it from birth, thanks to a full recline, up to 45 pounds.

The Prima Pappa Zero 3 has 7 height positions, 5 recline positions, and a 3-position foot rest. Other features include a one-hand removable tray, durable upholstery that can be wiped clean, and a 5-point safety harness.

Overall the Peg Perego Prima Pappa Zero 3 is a really solid high chair and we especially recommend it to anyone who needs one that folds up or is easily moveable.

BabyBjorn High Chair

The smallest and lightest high chair with legs on our list is the 11 pound BabyBjorn High Chair which also received the highest score from the leading consumer magazine. This thing is expensive at $300 and features a safe, sleek, eco-friendly design of steel and recycled plastic. This makes it incredibly easy to clean since there is no fabric, nooks, or crannies. The small size limits the use to a range of 6 months until the child is 38 inches tall.

Some other things we like about the BabyBjorn High Chair include a small footprint, foldable design, an adjustable tray that fits right up to baby’s tummy, and a removable, dishwasher-safe tray cover. On the downside there is no recline or seat height adjustments which really limits the usability.

If you are searching for a lightweight and compact high chair then the BabyBjorn High Chair is a great choice. However, it is not nearly as versatile as some of the others on this list.

Peg Perego Siesta

Another expensive $300 high chair is the Peg Perego Siesta. Serving your child from birth up to 45 pounds, this thing is well-built and extremely versatile thanks to a lot of adjustability. It has 9 height positions, 5 recline positions and a 3-position footrest. The Siesta also offers full recline and folds up compact.

While you can wipe down the fabric, and the tray is removable with one hand and machine-washable, there are some nooks and crannies that make it more difficult to clean. The Siesta high chair can also be a bit awkward to move since the rear wheels swivel while the front wheels stay in place.

Overall if you want a lot of adjustability in a high chair that also folds up then the Peg Perego Siesta is for you.

Graco Swivi Seat 3-in-1 Booster High Chair

The best booster high chair on our list goes to the Graco Swivi Seat 3-in-1 Booster High Chair which sells for about $51-$59 depending on style. This thing grows with your child from baby’s earliest feedings with an infant cradle recline all the way up to a 50 pound toddler. It is designed to use a chair you already have at home, while the most unique feature it has is a rotating seat.

The Swivi Seat also comes with plush head and body supports that can be removed as the child grows and needs more room. These seat pads are machine-washable. The tray can be removed with one hand and is dishwasher safe.

It is a bit more difficult to clean, but if you want a booster seat to use with your own chair at home then we highly recommend the Graco Swivi Seat 3-in-1 Booster High Chair.

Graco SimpleSwitch Highchair and Booster

If you want a cheap high chair that still works well then you should check out the $58 Graco SimpleSwitch Highchair and Booster. It has a simple, non-foldable design that works for kids up to 37 pounds as a high chair and then up to 60 pounds as a booster seat thanks to its removable legs. It has 3 recline positions, but no seat height adjustability.

The SimpleSwtich has machine-washable straps and chair cover. The tray can be removed with one hand, however the crotch restraint is attached to the tray so it wont lay flat when removed. So if you have to remove your child mid-meal you will probably have to remove all the food from the tray first.

Providing the best value of any high chair on this list we highly recommend the Graco SimpleSwitch for anyone who is on a tight budget.

Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair

The $40 Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair is designed to be used with an existing chair which makes it a great option for at home or on the go. It is basically an infant high chair and toddler booster seat in one and it is one of the best-selling high chairs on Amazon.

The Space Saver High Chair has features that include 2-position height adjustment, 3-position recline, one handed tray removal, dishwasher-safe tray cover and stain resistant machine washable seat pad.

At this price it is the cheapest high chair / booster seat on our list.

Ingenuity Trio 3-in-1 High Chair

Another option for a high chair under $100 is the Ingenuity Trio 3-in-1. The Trio was rated as a Best Buy by the leading consumer magazine, although user reviews while good were not quite as great. The 3-in-1 feature is really nice since it gives you a full size high chair, a removable booster seat, and a toddler smart chair. This gives you lots of versatility and the ability to grow with your child.

One of the main cons is that it does not fold. The wheels also do not swivel easily so it can be a bit of a pain to move around. Cleaning is not too much of a chore since the tray and insert are dishwasher safe and the seat pad is machine washable. Overall with a price of $99.99 it is a decent value buy.
